Connect Our Hearts

To celebrate National Volunteer Week 2021, 20-26 June, Volunteering New Zealand is gathering the volunteering stories from volunteers in Aotearoa.

We received many stories of touching moments from volunteering. We are sharing these stories on our social media accounts and our blogs, to ‘connect our hearts’ together. People have also been saying what volunteering means to them, as we reimagine volunteering or mahi aroha.

Here are the links to the blogs

Or read some of the stories on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Mahi aroha, doing work for love, is happening all year round, all over Aotearoa. Sharing stories from volunteers helps to spread the joy of kindness, something we call #AotearoaofKindness.

Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu

Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu National Volunteer Week celebrates the collective contribution of all volunteers who enrich Aotearoa New Zealand.

They grow our people, open minds, open hearts and create joy.

National Volunteer Week 2021 runs from June 20-26. This year’s theme is ‘Recognise, Connect, Reimagine’.  Join us this National Volunteer Week to share stories of volunteering, and reshape mahi aroha for the future.
